Local Screen Journal

Editorial policy

Local Screen Journal aims to make screen culture clearer without pretending that every question has a single answer. We value precise wording, relevant context and a visible distinction between editorial work and paid or partner material.

Accuracy and context

We check factual claims against suitable sources and take care with names, dates and descriptions. When a point depends on context, we say so. Examples are there to clarify an idea, not to imply that one setting represents every community or screen.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for relevance to the publication and its readers. A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable editorial conclusion. Paid features and partner placements are clearly labelled as such so readers can tell them apart from independent editorial content.

Corrections and updates

If a reader spots an error, they can contact us with the article detail and the correction they believe is needed. We review reported errors and amend published material when warranted. Where a substantive correction or update is made, we make that change clear in the article.

Images and illustrations

Illustrations may be commissioned, sourced, made for an article or generated with AI. When an image is AI-generated, we label it. We do not present an illustrative image as documentary evidence of a particular screen, place or event.
