Write for us
We welcome thoughtful pitches about public screens, community media, screen design and viewing habits in local life. The strongest ideas make a specific subject legible to a general reader and leave room for context.
Pitches with a clear centre
Tell us the question your proposed piece will answer, why it suits Local Screen Journal and what readers will understand after reading it. A narrow, well-defined idea is more useful than a broad promise to cover everything about screens. Say what material or examples you plan to use, and distinguish what you know from what you would need to verify.
What makes a strong contribution
We are interested in clear explanations, careful comparisons, accessible histories and essays attentive to a specific setting or habit. Write for curious readers rather than specialists. Avoid unsupported claims about what a whole audience thinks or does, and do not include private information or material you cannot substantiate.
How to send a proposal
Send your pitch through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short outline and a brief description of any relevant experience, without assuming that a pitch has been accepted. Please send a proposal rather than a full draft unless we have requested one.
